The last year has brought many changes for Mosaico+. The company concentrated its efforts on the development of new chip shapes and sizes, and research into innovative materials for chip production. The aim is to transform the concept of mosaic itself, from that of a mere decorative feature to that of a working tool in the hands of architects and interior designers, for use to build a new language, of eloquent, personalised surfaces.

This revolutionary decision by Mosaico+ has found full expression in the Jointed collection, very popular with the market and professionals alike. A series that reaches beyond the traditional concept of decoration, and beyond the level of the chip or rigid, geometrically defined space, to highlight the architectural and spatial features of the location where it is used, and expand the expressive properties of matter. A link between past and present, tradition and innovation.

Our journey into the evolution of a new mosaic and coverings concept continues. Mosaico+ prepares for the 2019 edition of Cersaie by presenting four new collections, with different sizes, shapes and materials, developed by Mosaico+ Art Director Massimo Nadalini, coordinating the work of designers Marialaura Rossiello for Studio Irvine and Kensaku Oshiro.
The crucial new features include the potential for using mosaic on the floor as well as on other surfaces, because the new materials offered are very resistant and withstand foot traffic.

In-depth study and experimentation focusing on the meaning of the word "mosaic" in its broadest, most contemporary sense. Mosaic is transformed into a pattern, something we conventionally view as "small", which is processed, subdivided, modified and finally multiplied until it is completely integrated with what were once the joints between pieces, in a seamless surface. Mosaic thus maintains its original identity as a continuous surface but also expands its role, acquiring different shapes, sizes and materials to meet the needs of architects and interior designers.

JOINTED overcomes the limits of modularity to offer infinite combinations

An infinite series of combinations that becomes an invaluable tool for architects and interior designers, for telling constantly different stories with the aid of graphic signs and paths which render every one unique. Jointed reaches beyond the typical mosaic and decoration stereotypes to explore new pathways, respond to requests for customisation, and offer unconventional scenarios and personalised solutions.

Symbolising the way Mosaico+ has overturned the paradigm, Jointed is the collection that supersedes the modularity of the mosaic chip and its repetition across the surface, through the potential for breaking down every single element in 5 different ways. In Jointed, the 5x5 cm chip is engraved with a graphic motif that provides the basis for 5 different types of decoration. The random composition of each of the subdivided chips assures an extremely high level of customisation and transforms the simple surface into a complex array, varying depending on the way the sheets are installed, which may be repetitive or in a random layout.
Customisation also continues with the option of colouring the cathedral glass in solid shades or giving it a veined surface. Last but not least, users can opt for a tone-on-tone grout or a contrasting one, to enhance the material’s vibrancy and create a more eye-catching composition.
The Jointed collection is available in 7 colours: Biancopuro, Bianco Marmo, Neropuro, Tortora, Grigio Caldo, Fango and Blu Notte.
