Bios Antibacterial : ultra-hygienic porcelain stoneware
Bios Antibacterial is the line of porcelain stoneware tiles which can kill 99.9% of the four main bacterial strains present in the atmosphere.

This exclusive range of bioactive, certified, environmentally friendly porcelain stoneware ceramic tiles is the product of  Casalgrande Padana research. This product makes use of the anti-bacterial properties of titanium dioxide ,  a natural material that gives off no harmful emissions and in fact significantly reduces the amount of harmful substances in the air in both indoor and outdoor spaces, thus making the atmosphere healthier and removing bad odours.

Bios Antibacterial is highly effective, killing 99.9% of the four main bacterial strains present in confined spaces:
Staphylococcus aureus, Enterococcus faecalis, Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa.

Suitable for any indoor or outdoor setting, Bios Antibacterial  also helps to eliminate bad odours and is perfect for any room of the house, from the bathroom to the kitchen, where - thanks to our thin, large-format tiles - it can be used for worktops or to clad tables or cabinets. Moreover, the presence of moisture - which is traditionally fertile ground for bacteria to develop - actually increases the beneficial effects of the technology.

Their high performance and multiple composition options make our collections the ideal solution for interior and exterior floors and coverings in any sector ranging from residential and commercial buildings to urban furniture and restoration works.

Casalgrande Padana porcelain stoneware tiles are guaranteed for life and are long-lasting,unalterable, non-absorbent, and inert. They are completely recyclable, do not fear temperature fluctuations (whatever the latitude), do not warp, ensure high mechanical strength, do not age, and remain unchanged over time.

Easy to lay and clean
Casalgrande Padana porcelain stoneware tiles are easy to lay in any setting, including residential buildings and high-traffic settings, such as shopping centres, schools, offices, restaurants, and any location. They don’t even require particular maintenance. Simply follow a few easy cleaning instructions.

Porcelain stoneware tiles are environmentally-friendly
Casalgrande Padana porcelain stoneware tiles do not contain plastic and are completely recyclable, fire-resistant, and do not release harmful substances, not even in the event of a fire.
These tiles are made in a closed-loop production process, which means that any production waste, including wastewater, is treated and reused and all components are recovered, and recycled through special systems. The emissions resulting from the production process are purified through abatement systems that exploit the best technologies to comply with the limitations established by law.
Casalgrande Padana’s environmental policy is also implemented through green procurement criteria to promote the selection of sustainable suppliers and reduce the environmental impact upstream our activities and products.

ISO 14001 certification
Casalgrande Padana was among the industry’s first companies to gain environmental awareness and focus on protecting the environment, health and safety while developing and maintaining its competitiveness on the market. This commitment results in strategies that place the company at the forefront of the pursuit of technologies, raw materials, and processes that can limit the impact of its activities on society and the environment.

EMAS certification
The EMAS regulation has turned out to be an extraordinary tool to monitor and improve companies’ environmental performance. Casalgrande Padana has implemented it through an environmental management system that defines an improvement programme based on the analysis of the company’s environmental impact and verifies the achievement of the set goals. Casalgrande Padana’s environmental statement further demonstrates the company’s commitment. An accredited third-party verifier ensures the credibility of the entire process.

LEED certification
The LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification was introduced in 1999 by the US Green Building Council, the organisation that works closely with research bodies and American government agencies to provide all industry operators with a green building certification system. The LEED certification evaluates the environmental, social and economic sustainability of buildings from their design to their everyday use through a flexible rating system that can be applied to all building types.
Given the growing interest in Italy, Casalgrande Padana has become member of Green Building Council Italia (GBC Italia), the national association recognised by USGBC to promote the LEED certification in Italy.
